People take staycations for many reasons, including but not limited to, saving money, avoiding travel, and taking advantage of and enjoying what is available in their own city.

1/10/2009 11:05:07 AM Civekonom Posts: 0	Staycation is the smartest thing for your neigborhod and community to do. Instead of going abroad and spend all your moeny in thailand or whatever. You boost your own country and comunity. So i say more staycations for the people, it might help us out of this mess. In my own hometown for instance, we had a record in tourist this year. We had never before spent so much time and so much money in my hometown, just because ot this.

1/14/2009 3:55:16 AM gorillatrader Posts: 0	We had a blended "Staycation" this year. A few days at Cedar Point for the kids this summer and a staycation over the Christmas Holiday for family time. Of course, that backfired. Christmas Eve the wife went into the hospital with a gallbladder issue and the week was shot. She's all better now and the hospital bills are just coming in. The Staycation will cost several times (more than several) the summer vacation.
