Thought 9.85 would be a breakout in the March contract. Was going to buy on a stop but after talking to Oscar decided not to. That was just about the high of the day. Thanks again Oscar. Still like sugar for the long term though.

After looking at both oct and march sugar, I really don't think there's a case for a h&s. Of course that is open to interpretation. I do see a double top in the oct around 10.50. I would like to see some strength and a close over 10 in the march contract. That's something that Oscar recommended and I have to agree.

I don not particularly like the Sugar right here. The cotton and Coffee look a little better for a long trade.

Yes Willie, I'm well aware of what a h&s formation looks like. Been looking at charts for more than 20 years. You can make a case of a h&s formation on the March contract but I was looking more at the triangle formed from the low om 8-16 and the high formed on 8-23. It could be a continuation pattern to go lower if it breaks that 8-16 low but with grains and oil headed higher I tend to lean towards a break above.

I will say this. The sugar does look like there could be a continuation to the downside coming. This will change as we get into the winter months here in the US. the softs make a much better trade in the winter.

Sugar looks to be breaking out this morning to the upside from a triangle formation. I wouldn't doubt that we see new highs at least in the mid teens.

Replying to myself........ BUY A PULLBACK into the 980's if we get it. Not necessarily a recommendation, more of reminder to myself since I didn't put my buy stops in at 978.......

Looks like the 200 ma is the barrier. Sugar has a habit of doing a fake out, just like the previous triangle breakout lower was a fake out. If it goes back into the 980's I'll consider being a buyer.

Sugar seems stuck here. Wait for the winter to kick in and we will likely get the move higher.

Not a summer market this sugar.

Looks like a mirror image in the march sugar. 3rd leg up coming?

Weak poke over the mirror but it does have a flat bottom. Think a safer buy would be over 10.05.

I see no mirro image a mock one yes . the open and closes are not close enough to be called a mirro image or at least 5 months ago Oscar wouldn't allow that

Wednesdays and Thursday bars have the same low and the high on Thursday is off by a tic. Opens and closes are opposite except that the close on Thursday could have been a bit higher. Mirror images do not have to be exact as with any type of indicator or setup. I'm calling it a mirror and if we get a close over Friday's high or a hit at 10.06, I'm long.

I'm long from 9.92. Was going to add at 10.07 on a stop but the gap up prevented that. Will add on a pull back.

Still long and will add at 10.24 on a stop tomorrow only. Otherwise stop is raised for break even.

Chart appears to be bullish in sugar...I had been following this for a while...fundamentals point to a surplus though...but, I think if congress wakes up and realizes that ethanol can be better produced from sugar instead of corn(or stops favoring corn over sugar), then we'll see sugar take off...

Thanks for the update on the fundy's. I have not added but have raised stops. The way crude was going my thinking was more sugar would be diverted to ethanol. Dec. crude is down today 1.55 so sugar may follow. Also if the indicies tank today there may be a huge sell off in everything for equity raising. It'll be an interesting day.
