I think the lag in silver is due to the fact that there is so much more silver on this planet than there is as gold. Traders are having difficulty rationalizing the notion to hold silver as a hedge against an economic downturn for that reason. If Gold continues to move higher Silver will move higher as well but certainly not as far or fast.
