I closed my account, not due to bad fortune, but because its horrible holding the dollar. It doesnt matter how big profits I make on trading, it all gets eaten by deflation of the dollar.

So i closed my account, cant hold the risk of owning dollars anymore, Im loosing money big time just holding an account in dollar.

U lot got a big problem, the dollar is emptying your pockets, without you knowing it. You should protect yourself and your money. This deflationary process could get really nasty if it picks up pace.
Buy a basket of currencies, gold or something to hedge the big currencyrisk your bearing.

Anyhow, today I had it and closed my account. The worst thing I ever did was to get an account in dollar without hedge.

If 90% of the world weren't receiving welfare from the United States perhaps there would be less inflation pressure on the dollar.

In any case, every currency in existence gyrates in price, including the king of currencies, the US dollar. If you can't deal with that, then maybe you are not ready to trade.

You might be right, hansjan, and it wouldn't be the first time I was "bad informed."

It's a fact though that the US spends trillions protecting Europe, Japan, Korea, and just about everywhere else, and it gets very little acknowledgement or praise for doing so, it is simply taken for granted.

Currencies do gyrate in price, that's a fact, too. The yin and the yang of the market is that prices goes up, and prices come down, rinse and repeat.

I regret coming across harshly in my first response, Clvekonom. I probably overreacted to what I perceived to be: "kicking the dollar when it was down." I apologize for that overreaction.

Sorry to hear Friday was not a good day for most. To spread a little good cheer I put a limit order to sell one on a test of the high around 1093 got filled when it tested, and got out at 1080. As Oscar says keep up your dukes.

Babysan (frormally Bayside)from an omniac before there was Omniacs.

Keep up the Faith

And by the way that sure looks like a Mirror Image on the Dec spoos chart.
I haven't quite learned how to draw and post the charts yet

hansjan, you suggest that I listen to Ron Paul. Apparently you did not recognize that I was voicing Ron Paul's views on military spending.

You also wrote that: "you can't blame us for your monetary policy." Please re-read my posts, because nowhere in them did I even address US monetary policy, much less blame you for it.

What I did state was simply that currency prices rise and fall. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Can you find a broker that can keep your funds in your local (or preferred) currency? I don't trade forex but isn't this a natural thing to do in a forex account?

Civekonom, what do you know, now the dollar is soaring, at least temporarily. Friday it hit 77.50+. Yin and yang. It goes up and it goes down. Don't get mad at it, use it and trade it and make money on it.

All trading vehicles should be traded with this in mind.
