I have both Futures and FOREX accounts. I found out that FOREX is an entirely different animal. I tried different trading systems, very short time frames (1 min), and I'm just not able to make any consistent profits in FOREX. Now on the other hand, my futures account, I've been able to make some consistent profits. I'm considering just closing my FOREX accounts, and roll my money over to my futures accounts. I don't like to give up, but I'm trying to look at this realistic. I think that most of the Omniac only trade futures. I'd appreciate any and all feedback. 8O

Thanks Quin. Good article, but it was focused on the poor quality of the majority of FX brokers. I use TradeStation, and their platform & fills are excellent, and their commissions are almost nil on the regular sized lots. So that(the broker) is not really the problem.
I have used different methods, but not with any consistency. I am somewhat mezmerized by the action. Quick thinking is a must. I've made some awesome trades, but likewise I've had enough losses to offset those gains. I'm not wiped out, but smart enough to slow down, and re-evaluate, and attempt to improve.
Trading currency futures without the leverage of FOREX would be much easier.
I appreciate any and all ideas, advice, and/or suggestions.

i used to have tradestation in the old days when it came in thru the cable tv line, i guess it's improved
let's ask Oscar the forex question in the room
i'd say forex is very bad, 80% who open a forex acct go under...forex purpose is for world trade, so big players will come in and move it
i'd say focus on a few futures contracts, such as ES NQ GC DX EC, become an expert on them
really know your market, every year that passes you'll know it better!

I'm definately leaning to closing out my FOREX accounts, and tranfer into my futures accounts.
FOREX leverage is awesome when things go according to plan, but is hell due to the wild ride of leverage...make things stressful in comparison to futures.
Thanks for the advice.

I had a chance to ask Oscar in the chat room about currencies. He only trades Futures.
Forex seems to take too much time to watch anything else, especially if your are actively trading. On that note, I probably have over-traded the Forex. Lots of action, but will likely cost you. Way better than the casino!!! Plan your trades.
With that note, I'll be closing one of 2 Forex accounts, and rolling over to futures. A wise move.
I hope these post help others. Best Regards.

This is good advice. The Forex is so wild that those who are playing on any emotion will get sunk.
